Position: Draftsman

Lynn Engineering is seeking a highly motivated self-starter looking for the opportunity to manage and grow our business in the role of DRAFTSMAN.

We are always looking for detail-orientated individuals to join our growing engineering firm. We are looking for a Draftsman to create detailed scale plans for wood, concrete, and steel construction, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.

Principle Duties

  • To work closely with engineering staff to ensure all work produced is of the highest quality and can be clearly and concisely used for construction
  • Assists in creation and maintaining of construction specification plans created with a CAD software that can be used for construction
  • Provides hardcopy and electronic drawings for internal and external uses
  • Reviews project scope provided by engineer or contractor based on architectural drawings and specifications
  • Draw rough and detailed drawing/plans for commercial buildings, and residential structures, based on preliminary concepts and sketches
  • Generate windstorm and foundation plans that can easily and clearly be used for construction
  • Familiarity with local building codes and permitting requirements
  • Reviews and certifies drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to strict drafting and design standards
  • Provides support to the field on questions or issues related to designs/drawings

Requirements

  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of wood frame construction
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office suite
