Lynn Engineering acquires Ken Shanks & Associates, LLC of El Campo

BAY CITY, Texas (Monday, Aug. 31, 2020) – Lynn Engineering has acquired El Campo, Texas-based architecture firm Ken Shanks & Associates, LLC effective Monday, Aug. 31, 2020.

The addition of Ken Shanks, AIA brings a full-time architect to the Lynn Engineering team.

“We are thrilled to add architecture to our line of services,” said Mitchell Carrillo, Principal Engineer at Lynn Engineering. “Ken brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team, and our clients will benefit from a one-stop shop approach to design and engineering that will shorten turnaround times and align priorities to produce better results, faster.”

Ken Shanks has been the principal architect of his firm since June 1999. The firm has experience in the Houston metro area with both commercial and residential architecture. Prior to starting his own firm, Ken worked with the teams at BROWNE PENLAND MCGREGOR STEPHENS ARCHITECTS, INC. and SUSTAITA ASSOCIATES, INC., both of Houston.

He has been a licensed architect in the State of Texas since 1990 and has been a Registered Accessibility Specialist with the State of Texas in the past. Ken is well-versed in Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements for handicap accessibility. Ken is a 1986 graduate of Texas A&M University.

“I’m proud to join the Lynn Engineering team,” said Shanks. “We’ve partnered together on several projects over the years. As much as we work together, this move makes sense. From a customer service standpoint, we’ll now have everyone on the project in the same room together, literally.”
